The inspection involves looking for the evidence of wood destroying insects such as Termites, Carpenter Ants, Carpenter Bees and Powder Post Beetles. If the bug itself is found or any evidence of their presence, a determination of insect activity and need for possible treatment is made at the time of the inspection. Termites - Subterranean termites are known to cause damage to homes in Ohio. Most Commonly found in basements/crawl spaces, areas with wood rot and garages.Carpenter Ants - Carpenter ants do not eat wood as termites do, but instead remove wood and deposit the debris outside of their nests in small piles often found outside around the homes with signs of damage inside.Carpenter Bees - Often boring 1/4" sized holes in wood that are used as nests for their eggs. Most commonly found under roof eaves, decks and fences.Powder Post Beetles - Small (3/32 to 1/4" long, cylindrical, brown beetle that attacks hardwood. Mostly found in older homes and barns with hardwood framing.
